Quick
forward crossovers in "s" shape up the middle of the ice with acceleration.
In order to outskate your defensive opponent as you carry the puck
up the ice it is important that you maximize the edge power of each
skating push.
Practice a quick crossover in a clockwise direction, followed by a
quick crossover in a counterclockwise direction.
Pushing sequence starts with a right forward inside edge/left forward
outside/right forward inside - PLANT the left forward inside edge
and let your outside shoulder move forward to maximize momentum.
Repeat.
To achieve maximum edge power use the 100% weighted peak power push,
for acceleration use the "whole blade" push, finishing off with an
ankle and toe "snap" on each push.
Remember! Use your strong shoulder position to help keep your upper
body strong and working with you to maximize your momentum.
