Drill description:
  • Stand a couple feet away from the boards
  • Put both arms up and lean towards the boards
  • Put your feet into a "V" position
  • Let your feet slip back
  • Bring them in and let them slip back again
  • Now, put your feet into a "V" position and feel like you are gripping the ice with your inside edges, let the edge BITE the ice
  • It is important to keep your center of gravity low and butt tucked under you
  • Keep the head up
  • Ensure that 100% of your body weight is pushing into your blades
  • This is the strong inside edge BITE feeling that you should get on your forward stride peak power push
